Here’s some information about the wedding of Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece and Marie-Chantal Miller

Crown Prince Pavlos and Marie-Chantal became engaged in late 1994

The couple were married on 1 July 1995 at St Sophia’s Cathedral in London.

Marie-Chantal’s wedding dress was designed by Valentino.

Many members of royalty were present, most of whom, happened to be family members.
Quests included:
Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth II, King and Queen of Sweden, King and Queen of Spain, King and Queen of Jordan, Queens Ingrid and Margrethe II of Denmark as well as Princess Benedikte of Denmark.
Queen Ingrid of Denmark was the Groom’s maternal grandmother. Queen Sofia of Spain is the groom’s paternal aunt.

Marie-Chantal wore a tiara that belonged to her new mother-in -law, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece.

Marie-Chantal has worn the tiara occasionally since her wedding.

Some information about the tiara, courtesy of Tatler magazine:
“The origins of the pearl and diamond jewels, which started life as a corsage brooch, are not completely clear. It’s thought that they stem from the reign of Frederick the Great in Prussia, but the story really starts when the brooch made its way to Princess Louise of Prussia, Grand Duchess of Baden, around 1913. The Grand Duchess bequeathed her corsage to her daughter, Queen Victoria of Sweden, and it was eventually inherited by the future Queen Ingrid of Denmark.”
“It wasn’t until Queen Ingrid’s daughter, the then Princess Anne-Marie, was looking forward to her 18th birthday (and her wedding to King Constnatine of Greece in 1964) that the corsage was crafted into a tiara. Queen Ingrid gifted this new creation to Anne-Marie, just days after her 18th birthday.”

Queen Paola of Belgium turns 88 today.
According to the Belgian Monarchy Website:
“Her Majesty Queen Paola was born Princess Ruffo di Calabria, on 11 September 1937, at Forte dei Marmi in Italy. She is the youngest of the seven children of Prince Fulco Ruffo di Calabria, a First World War flying ace, and Countess Luisa Gazelli. Her grandmother on her father’s side, Laure Mosselman du Chenoy, was Belgian.”
On 2 July 1959, Paola married Prince Albert of Belgium.

The couple has 3 children. Prince Philippe (1960), Princess Astrid (1962) and Prince Laurent (1963).

Queen Paola has a great sense of style. So in honour of her birthday, here are some of my favourites of her style moments.

Sadly, The Duchess of Kent has passed away at the age of 92.
A statement from Buckingham Palace was released this morning:
“It is with deep sorrow that Buckingham Palace announces the death of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent.
Her Royal Highness passed away peacefully last night at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.
The King and Queen and all members of The Royal Family join the The Duke of Kent, his children and grandchildren in mourning their loss and remembering fondly The Duchess’s life-long devotion to all the organisations with which she was associated, her passion for music and her empathy for young people.”

Katharine married Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent, on 8 June, 1961 at York Minister. They went on to have 3 children. George, Helen and Nicholas.
Katharine was devoted to many charities and organisations throughout her time in the public eye.
Sending my thoughts to The Duke of Kent, their children and grandchildren as well as their families and friends.
